Fixed windows exist to allow natural light to come in a room. They do not open or close.
Fixed windows come in all sizes. They are most often used in office buildings, where windows are sealed for safety reasons and to conserve energy, but where natural light is enjoyed and appreciated (and, we might add, help with productivity and mood).
Many residential homes have fixed windows in rooms where there is no need to have an open window, such as a garage, basement, or storage room. You’ll also see them over larger windows or doors, in attractive designs, to bring more light into a room such as an entryway.
